What does your business do?

Loft conversions, kitchen extensions and whole house renovations throughout West London.

What motivated you to do what you do?

I enjoy structural and other design work and operate best when I have multiple projects. The variety of challenges and continual change keeps things fun and interesting.

What is your Unique Selling Point?

We do an excellent job for a fixed price and are always complimented on the quality and clarity of our communication. That is not as common in this industry as it should be.

Who is your ideal customer/client?

The majority of our clients are busy professionals who prefer to have the one stop solution that a Design and Build Company offers.

What gives your business the edge over your competitors?

We do not subcontract out our projects and this is a very big selling point. Clients really value having just one point of contact and one phone number that is always answered.

Do you have a particular service or product you’d like to flag up here?

Actually offering all services “in house” is of huge benefit to busy clients. Aside from drawings up plans and handling the council application process we offer everything from kitchen design to space planning and colour advice.

How do people get in touch with you?

The majority of our enquiries are from recommendations and whatever happens I think that will always be the case. We do also get enquiries through the website and of course from signs outside our projects.

What is your biggest challenge in the current climate?

Without a doubt it is finding new staff that can work to the standard expected of us.

Where do you think your business will be in 5 years’ time?

After ten years of working in the area we have managed to build up a strong customer base and also build a new side to the business working with a small number of interior designers and architect’s. We will continue to grow the business, though not get so large that we lose the personal touch.

Has being a member of ABN helped your business?

Yes of course, anything that raises our profile is very valuable and ABN is always pushing forwards with new ideas.

What do you like about the Askew Road?

The variety of shops and sense of community is great.

What do you think Askew Road will be like in 5 years’ time?

I think Max Inc. really kick-started the idea that Askew Road could be a destination in its own right for interesting retail outlets. These things take time and retail is never easy, but in five years time I think we will see a variety of established independent retailers.

How easy is it to shop locally in Askew Road?

Very. The local Tesco actually has quite a good range of useful produce and if you add in the local butchers, bakers, hardware stores and everyone else there is pretty much everything you need.

What are your favourite shops and businesses in Askew Road?

Max Inc, Del’s Hardware, Phillip Wooller and Café Louche. All are now part of the fabric of the community and offer great products and services.

What shops and businesses do you think Askew Road lacks?

That’s hard to answer. I think the road probably lacks something we haven’t even thought of.
