Meet the Artist Friday 8th 6pm to 8pm at BrackensburysW12

Stefanie Smith, a professional artist and teacher will be exhibiting from 9th November until the end of the month at BRACKENBURYW12, 135 Askew Rd, W12 9AU.

Stefanie Smith is a professional artist and teacher.  After completing her degree in Applied and Media Art in 2001 she continued to study and qualified as a teacher the following year.  Being a lucky lady she has thoroughly enjoyed her years as an Art and English teacher and continues to do so, however, exhibiting at the New Designers exhibition at the Business Design Centre, Islington, meant that a taste for painting, drawing and making never left her.  Painting murals for nurseries and private homes, together with working on commissioned Artwork, enabled her to keep her creative side flowing and being blessed with two small boys, Stefanie embraced life as a mother, albeit a chaotic one but she decided to ‘get a grip’ and get back on with her own work.

Illustration courses at Chelsea College of Art gave her the push she needed and also led to exhibiting her work in the ‘Inspired By…’ exhibition at The V&A Museum, earlier this year.

Stefanie loves to work in a variety of media but her current body of work sees her working in Oil and Acrylic on a group of animals often seen as pests.  Titled ‘The Hunted’, Stefanie’s work can be viewed at a favourite haunt of hers, BrackenburysW12  on The Askew Road, W12, from Friday 8th November 2013.
