New Year Resolution to cut your plastic waste? Make a start with your Askew Road shopping

Have you thought about your New Year resolutions yet?How about cutting back on the amount of plastic you buy with your shopping?

Askew Business Network is supporting an important local initiative to encourage shops in Askew Road to use less plastic, with the aim of making the street zero waste.
It’s inspired by Makayla Drummond Murray of the Source Bulkfoods in Turnham Green, who spoke to a group of us in November.
We’ve booked the meeting room upstairs at the Duchess W6, 320 Goldhawk Road on Tuesday 15 January at 6.30pm to meet and exchange ideas.

Please let us know if you are able to come – and bring your ideas for actions we can take and people we can partner with to reduce the plastic on our shopping street.
The good news is that the government’s new waste strategy will force retailers and producers of packaging to pay the full cost of collecting and recycling it – eventually!

So shopkeepers will be listening!

Doors open at 6.30pm, meeting starts at 7pm.
