Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Greenside Primary School and the official opening of the new Learning Garden on Tuesday, 28th February at 1.45 for 2.00pm.

The event will be an opportunity to see the Goldfinger school and the Gordon Cullen mural in daylight, and the ‘première’ of the film ‘The Story of the Greenside Mural’, inspired by the evening we had at the school in November and featuring an interview with Alan Powers. The Friends of the Greenside Mural will be on hand to update guests on their activities and what’s next in their programme. Application for charity status is in progress and should be registered in the next 6 - 8 weeks.

The multi-sensory Learning Garden provides delightful learning through a play area designed primarily for younger children whilst offering opportunities for children of all ages. The imaginative layout retains a tree planted by the Queen Mother in 1987 to mark the renaming from Westville Road School. The Early Years Foundation Stage have been raising funds to buy espalier fruit trees for the Learning Garden in order to have fruit to share with the rest of the school.
